Thousands protest immigrant detention centers at `Lights for Liberty´ vigils in Southern California

Thousands of Southern Californians came out Friday night to voice their opposition to immigrant detention centers, unsafe and unsanitary conditions for migrants and the Trump administration’s crackdown on asylum seekers and refugees. Dubbed “Lights for Liberty,� and organized by a group of the same name, there were more than 20 vigils across Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside counties - the local editions of a national drive that included an estimated 800 candlelight protests around the country.
